A Luristan Bronze Sword, 2nd to 1st Millennium B.C.
Elegant and well-preserved bronze sword from the Luristan culture, featuring a long, slender blade with a pronounced central rib and a finely cast hilt. The piece shows attractive dark patina with areas of lighter green oxidation, typical of ancient Iranian bronzes. The form is characteristic of high-status weapons produced by the skilled metalworkers of the Zagros Mountains during the late Bronze Age to early Iron Age.
Luristan bronzes are renowned for their technical quality and artistic sophistication, and swords of this type were symbols of prestige and power among the warrior elites of ancient Iran.
