A Roman bronze appliqué or pendant in the form of a dog, 1st-3rd century A.D. Finely cast as a small standing dog with alert head turned slightly to one side, pointed ears, open mouth and a characteristically curled tail raised over the back. The figure has a suspension loop on the upper back, suggesting it was used as a decorative appliqué, harness fitting or personal pendant. The surface displays a dark green patina with lighter encrustation. Height: 2.8 cm. Width: 3.6 cm. Depth: 1 cm. Weight: 14.89 g.
