A Rare Roman bronze statuette of an eagle, 1st-3rd century A.D. Depicting a finely modelled eagle with outstretched wings, perched atop a rectangular pedestal base with moulded feet. The bird is shown in profile with a powerful hooked beak, large rounded eye and detailed feathering across the body and wings. The head is turned to the left, giving the figure a dynamic and alert appearance. The surface displays an attractive dark greyish patina with traces of light green and reddish encrustation.
