Val Saint Lambert - 波特酒酒杯 (6) - Service EUREL - 水晶 - 艺术装饰风格 - 1933

Set of 6 Val Saint Lambert “Eurel” Crystal Glasses – Art Deco Service, Belgium, 1933 An elegant set of six Art Deco crystal glasses by Val Saint Lambert, Belgium, belonging to the iconic “Eurel” service, one of the manufactory’s most refined and recognizable tableware designs of the 1930s. Entirely hand-cut, the glasses feature the characteristic vertical flat-cut pattern (“taillé 12 côtes plates”) documented in the original 1933 Val Saint Lambert catalogue. The elegant conical silhouette combined with the rhythmic optical cutting creates a refined interplay of light and transparency, perfectly reflecting the sophisticated geometry of the Art Deco period. The original catalogue photograph confirms the authenticity and historical provenance of the model. In addition, examples from the Eurel service are currently presented in the special exhibition dedicated to Val Saint Lambert’s Art Deco production at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi, further highlighting the importance and collectibility of this celebrated design. The final photograph shows the museum display. These glasses are ideal for dessert wine, port, or sherry, with a capacity of approximately 70–80 ml, a refined format typical of elegant interwar table services. Beautifully balanced and timeless in appearance, the Eurel service remains highly appreciated today for its understated modernism and exceptional Belgian crystal craftsmanship. Height: approx. 9 cm Diameter: approx. 7 cm Capacity: approx. 70–80 ml Val Saint Lambert, nestled in Seraing near Liège, Belgium, is a beacon of crystal craftsmanship with a legacy spanning nearly two centuries. Established in 1826 by chemist François Kemlin and engineer Auguste Lelièvre, the company transformed the remnants of the Val-Saint-Lambert Abbey into a thriving glassworks. The 19th century marked a period of significant growth for Val Saint Lambert. By the early 1900s, the company employed over 5,000 workers, producing 120,000 pieces of glass daily. Their creations, renowned for exceptional quality and intricate designs, found admirers worldwide, including in Tsarist Russia and North America. A testament to their artistry is the “Vase of the Nine Provinces,” a monumental piece over 2 meters tall and weighing 200 kilograms, crafted for the 1894 World Exhibition in Antwerp. The 20th century brought challenges, including the impacts of two World Wars and economic downturns. Despite these obstacles, Val Saint Lambert’s resilience ensured the preservation of its artisanal heritage. Today, the company seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, producing exquisite crystal pieces that cater to modern aesthetics. Val Saint Lambert stands as a symbol of Belgian craftsmanship, where each piece reflects a harmonious blend of history, artistry, and innovation. Will be well packaged, protected and insured
