A Late Roman / Early Byzantine Bronze Signet Ring, 4th to 7th Century A.D.
Heavy bronze signet ring with a large oval bezel measuring approximately 2.0 × 2.2 cm. The bezel is deeply engraved with a geometric design featuring a prominent central cross dividing the field, accompanied by zigzag and linear patterns. The robust hoop shows a rich dark patina with attractive surface wear.
Rings of this type were commonly used during the transition from the Late Roman Empire to the Early Byzantine period. They functioned primarily as personal seals for authenticating documents, letters, and commercial agreements. The geometric and cruciform motifs are highly characteristic of this era.
