Roman Bronze Appliqué – 1st to 3rd Century AD A finely cast Roman bronze appliqué depicting a stylized human bust rendered in a highly schematic yet expressive manner. The figure displays a rounded head with simplified facial features and a broad mantle or draped garment extending over the shoulders, creating a compact and balanced composition. Such decorative mounts were commonly attached to wooden furniture, chests, ceremonial objects, harness fittings, or architectural elements, serving both ornamental and symbolic purposes within the Roman world.
