Luristan Bronze Spearhead – 2nd–1st Millennium BC A finely cast Luristan bronze spearhead featuring a compact leaf-shaped blade that gradually tapers to a rounded point. The spearhead retains its original integral tang with a pronounced collar, allowing it to be securely mounted onto a wooden shaft. Its compact proportions and robust construction reflect the practical and efficient weapon designs developed by the master bronze workers of ancient Luristan. Bronze spearheads of this type were widely produced throughout the Zagros Mountains of western Iran during the late Bronze and early Iron Ages. Small examples such as this were well suited for use as light hunting or combat weapons and occasionally served as symbolic or votive offerings. The surface exhibits a pleasing green archaeological patina with minor mineral deposits and evidence of prolonged burial, enhancing its historical character.
