Early Medieval European Bronze Ring – 6th to 9th Century AD
A finely cast Early Medieval European bronze ring dating to the 6th to 9th Century AD. The ring features a broad circular bezel decorated with a carefully arranged pattern of concentric circle-and-dot motifs, a decorative tradition widely employed throughout Early Medieval Europe. The balanced geometric composition gives the piece a distinctive appearance while reflecting the symbolic ornamental language of the period.
Such bronze rings were worn as personal ornaments and markers of identity, with geometric motifs often serving decorative or protective purposes rather than functioning as engraved signets. The ring displays an attractive green archaeological patina together with excellent preservation of the raised circular decoration, making it an appealing example of Early Medieval metalwork.
