Japan, 1998 (Heisei 10) Tokyo Mint Fair Coin Set and 1999 (Heisei 11) Cherry Blossom Viewing Coin Set / 造幣東京フェア貨幣セット + 桜の通り抜け貨幣セット Two official brilliant uncirculated coin sets issued by the Mint Bureau, Ministry of Finance (大蔵省造幣局), sold together. The first was issued for the Tokyo Mint Fair, November 1998, in a reported mintage of only 6,000 sets; the second in April 1999 for the annual Sakura no Toorinuke (cherry blossom walkthrough), reported mintage 80,000. Each set contains the full circulating series for its year, 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 yen, dated Heisei 10 and Heisei 11 respectively. Each set also includes a lozenge-shaped year medal. The 1998 medal shows the zodiac tiger with the date '98, reverse carrying that year's grand-prix art medal design, a stylised white bellflower with a line-drawn female profile representing an "image of peace". The 1999 medal shows the zodiac rabbit with the date '99, its blossom-path reverse struck using the Mint's latent image technique, so the falling petals appear to shift as the medal is tilted.
