A striking pair of vintage decorative pitchers, beautifully contrasting in material, texture and colour, and united by their elegant sculptural silhouettes. The larger pitcher is a French ceramic piece marked “Lisieux” on the underside, indicating production in Lisieux, Normandy, France. It features a dramatic elongated spout, open loop handle and finely ribbed body, enhanced by a beautiful grey-blue and ivory glazed finish with subtle variations in tone. The second pitcher is crafted from glass with a warm bronze/copper toned. Its sleek elongated body, high spout and integrated handle create an almost architectural silhouette. The exact manufacturer remains unidentified. Together, the two vessels form a particularly sophisticated decorative ensemble, combining the artisanal character of French glazed ceramic with the smooth, luminous appearance of metallic glass.
