Luristan Bronze Arrowhead – 2nd to 1st Millennium BC A Luristan bronze arrowhead of elongated triangular form, cast with a pronounced central midrib running from the base toward the pointed tip. The blade is furnished with angular barbed shoulders and extends into a long narrow tang intended for insertion into a wooden shaft. The surface displays a naturally aged green-brown patina. Bronze weapons, including arrowheads and other projectile points, formed an important part of the metalworking tradition of Iron Age Luristan in western Iran. Luristan is particularly known for its extensive production of bronze weapons and fittings during the early 1st millennium BC.
