The piece is executed in the Historicism style, with classic Neo-Renaissance design elements. The bowl features two cast handles decorated with medallion relief portraits of female heads. The outer rim is decorated with detailed foliate motif engraving, and the center display has a matching pattern. It stands on a stepped, rounded pedestal base stamped with W.MF.M., indicating a brass base with silver plating. The inner rim is engraved with a personal dedication dated 1896.
