Hamangia Thinker & Seated Woman — 2-Piece Archaeological Replica Collection
A two-piece archaeological replica collection inspired by two of the most distinctive prehistoric figurines associated with the Hamangia culture: the celebrated Thinker of Hamangia and its companion, the Seated Woman.
The original figurines were discovered together in a prehistoric cemetery at Cernavodă, Romania, and belong to the Hamangia cultural tradition of southeastern Europe, dating broadly to the 5th millennium BCE.
The Thinker & Seated Woman
The Thinker of Hamangia is distinguished by its seated posture, with the head supported by the hands in an unusually expressive pose. Its simplified human form and contemplative appearance have made it one of the most recognisable prehistoric figurines from southeastern Europe.
Its companion, commonly known as the Seated Woman, presents a contrasting upright seated posture. Displayed together, the two figures form a particularly compelling representation of prehistoric figurative art.
The ArkeoArt Reproduction
This two-piece collection is produced by ArkeoArt as a museum-inspired interpretation of the original Hamangia figurines.
Each sculpture is individually cast from a polyester resin and marble-powder composite, providing substantial weight and a stone-like character. The surfaces are individually hand-painted and finished with an aged archaeological-style patina to emphasise the sculptural forms and surface details.
Because each piece is hand-finished, subtle variations in colour, patina and surface texture may occur.

Collector's Note
What makes this pair particularly interesting is that the two figures are historically associated with the same archaeological context rather than being an artificially assembled modern set.
Presented together, they create a compact representation of prehistoric European figurative art and are particularly suited to collectors interested in archaeology, Neolithic cultures, prehistoric art and museum-inspired objects.
Replica & Provenance Statement
These two objects are modern archaeological replicas produced by ArkeoArt. They are not ancient artefacts and are not presented as original archaeological objects.
The sculptures are newly manufactured reproductions and therefore have no archaeological provenance or previous archaeological owner.
