青铜器时代 黄铜色 Arrowhead Group (4) (没有保留价)
A group of four Bronze Age bronze arrowheads. One arrowhead features a leaf-shaped blade with upwards sloping shoulders, a prominent central midrib and a short narrow tang. Another features a short, rounded leaf-shaped blade, central midrib and tapering tang. The last two arrowheads both have a triangular, leaf-shaped blade, upwards sloping shoulders and short narrow tang. Each arrow has earthy encrustation and patination, as well as some weathering including chipping to the edges of the blades.
In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the Western Asiatic area. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of the bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Archaeological evidence suggests that the bronze objects often serve ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts.
