A fine silver drachm from Dyrrhachium in Illyria, struck under magistrates Meniskos and Agathionos. The obverse features a cow, standing right, suckling her calf with her head lowered towards the calf. An eagle, with its wings open, flies right above the legend MENIΣKOΣ. The reverse displays a double stellate pattern and a legend which reads ΔYΡ ΑΓΑ-ΘΙΩ-ΝΟΣ. Diameter: (circa) 1.7cm Weight: 3.31g Provenance: Ex London Art Market, acquired 1980s-90s.
