A large and aesthetic Petroleum Quartz specimen weighing 69.8 ct, originating from the well-known Skardu region of Pakistan.
The crystal shows a clearly developed termination on one side, while the opposite end was likely attached to the host matrix - typical for many large petroleum quartz crystals from this locality.
Inside the quartz, you can see the characteristic hydrocarbon inclusions that define this variety.

Under UV light, these inclusions display a strong, vivid blue fluorescence, as shown in the additional photo, confirming the classic “petroleum” signature.

The crystal is transparent with internal reflections, fluid inclusions and excellent clarity in many areas. A sizeable and desirable specimen for collectors of quartz varieties and Pakistani alpine-type minerals.
