Four Vintage Traditional Japanese Nakiri Knives – All Signed / Various Sakai Makers

This is a set of four vintage Japanese nakiri包丁, each carrying the signature or maker’s mark of renowned smiths. These knives were hand-forged and used in professional Japanese kitchens, and each retains the dignified presence of classic Sakai craftsmanship.
Please note that all pieces show age-related wear, making them suitable for collectors or users capable of sharpening and restoration.

1. 堺司秀壽(Sakai Toshihisa) – Signature on blade & handle branding

Features: Signed “堺司秀壽”, handle with burnt branding (堺司秀壽). Classic Sakai nakiri profile.
2. 日山和久 / 本割 / 青銅(backside engraving)
Total length: approx. 27.0 cm
Blade length: approx. 14.5 cm
Blade height: approx. 4.7 cm
Features: Elegant straight-back nakiri with engraved marks on the backside:
“日山和久”, “本割”, “青銅”.
3. 本種(Hon-dane) – Handle stamped with wave crest (丸印に浪)/ 手打種子島
Total length: approx. 27.5 cm
Blade length: approx. 15.0 cm
Blade height: approx. 5.2 cm
Features:
Blade signed “本種”
Handle marked with a round wave crest
Additional branding: “手打種子島” (hand-forged Tanegashima tradition)
4. 廣朋(Hiroomo) – Horse mark & signature

Condition
These are vintage, hand-forged Japanese knives, and each shows characteristics of age and use:
Rust, patina, stains
Scratches and surface wear
Minor edge chips and tip wear
Please bid only if you understand these vintage conditions and are able to sharpen or restore the blades yourself.
All four knives have a thick, sturdy construction typical of traditional Japanese kitchen tools.
