腓尼基 Hardstone 神祇的护符 (没有保留价)
A finely carved Phoenician hardstone amulet modelled in the shape of a stylistically rendered figure, dressed with a long robe. The piece features a triangular shape, with two sides decorated with diagonal incisions detailing the folds of the robe and the stylised features of the figure's face, whilst the third side remains unadorned. The piece is pierced horizontally at the arms for suspension. Earthly encrustations to the surface and minor scratches.
Phoenicia was a civilisation originating from the Levant. The people of Phoenicia spoke a Semitic language and purposed jewellery, as in many ancient societies, to mark social status, wealth and privilege. Ornamental objects such as amulets were a favourite of the Phoenicians.

Provenance: Ex SM collection London, acquired 1970s-2000s.
