Ancient Bronze Amulet / Pendant
Roman to Early Medieval Period, c. 1st–7th century AD
A small and intriguing ancient bronze amulet or pendant, cast in a stylised trilobate form with a central rounded boss and three outward-curving lobes, terminating in an integral suspension loop.
The form and construction suggest an origin within the Roman to Early Medieval cultural sphere, possibly functioning as a protective amulet or symbolic pendant. Such abstract or semi-symbolic bronze pendants were widely worn across the Roman provinces and later early medieval Europe, often imbued with apotropaic (protective) meaning, personal significance, or regional symbolism now lost to time.
The surface is covered with a rich natural green patina, formed through centuries of oxidation, providing both visual appeal and strong confirmation of age. The piece remains structurally sound, with surface pitting and wear entirely consistent with prolonged burial.
The pendant is currently mounted on a modern 17-inch faux leather cord, making it suitable for immediate wearing or display. The mounting is fully reversible and does not alter the ancient object.
Size: Approx. 19 mm 1 g
Material: Bronze
Culture: Roman / Early Medieval (attributed)
Period: c. 1st–7th century AD
Condition: Good for age. Encrustation, patination, and surface wear consistent with antiquity. No modern restoration observed.

A compelling and wearable ancient artefact, ideal for collectors of Roman antiquities, early medieval objects, ancient amulets, or cabinet-of-curiosities pieces. Its abstract form and attractive patina make it both historically evocative and visually striking.
