Original modernist duo of porcelain vases produced by the renowned German manufactory Fürstenberg. Both vases were made using the same original mould, but intentionally finished in two contrasting factory surface treatments: – one in biscuit porcelain (unglazed, matte) – one in transparent glaze (glossy) The body features a geometric hexagonal “honeycomb” relief, transitioning into vertical fluting at the neck, creating a distinctly sculptural and architectural form. This contrast between biscuit and glazed porcelain reflects the experimental and design-driven approach of German mid-century modern ceramics from the 1960s–1970s, where surface and texture played a central role. Both pieces bear the underglaze blue crowned “F” mark of Fürstenberg, confirming authenticity and 20th-century production. The duo represents a deliberate design variant, not a mismatched pair, and should be understood as a conceptual set.
