Konzept des Werkes In diesem Werk wird Rembrandt van Rijn gedanklich in die Gegenwart gerufen und als zeitgenössischer Künstler weitergedacht. Die Arbeit basiert auf der künstlerischen Behauptung, dass Rembrandt heute lebt, unsere Welt beobachtet und sich selbst – mit den Mitteln, dem Bewusstsein und dem Perfektionismus des 21. Jahrhunderts – neu porträtiert. Das Selbstporträt ist dabei nicht als Kopie oder stilistische Nachahmung zu verstehen, sondern als Transformation: Rembrandts introspektischer Blick, seine Auseinandersetzung mit Identität, Vergänglichkeit und Selbstreflexion werden in einen heutigen Kontext übertragen. Die Malerei verbindet die Tiefe und Ernsthaftigkeit der alten Meister mit der Präzision, dem technischen Anspruch und der Sensibilität unserer Zeit. Das Werk stellt die Frage nach Autorschaft und Zeitlichkeit: Was würde ein Künstler wie Rembrandt heute sehen? Wie würde er sich selbst darstellen, wenn er mit dem Wissen, den Erfahrungen und der visuellen Sprache unserer Gegenwart konfrontiert wäre? Der Künstler behauptet bewusst, dass Rembrandt selbst dieses Selbstporträt gemalt hat – jedoch nicht im historischen Sinne, sondern als geistige und künstlerische Fortsetzung. Damit entsteht ein Spannungsfeld zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, Original und Interpretation, Mythos und zeitgenössischer Realität. Einzigartigkeit und Authentizität Das Bild ist ein Originalwerk, entstanden im Jahr 2020. Es existieren keine weiteren Versionen, Reproduktionen oder Multiplikate. Die handschriftliche Signatur befindet sich auf der Rückseite des Werkes, oben rechts. Das Kunstwerk stammt direkt vom Künstler und wird von einem Zertifikat der Echtheit begleitet, welches ebenfalls vom Künstler handsigniert ist.
