The machine quickly became a fixture in many Danish homes and a symbol of classic Danish design and quality. The factory closed in 1973, and the buildings are now listed. The Raadvad brand is now owned by the Finnish company Fiskars, which does not produce the classic bread slicer. The bread slicer is characterized by its metal frame and wooden handle and is available in several colors, often with an age-related patina.
