This delightful vase with the model name "BALZAC" was designed by René Delvenne in 1961 for Val Saint Lambert in Belgium. The lower half of the vase is decorated with a clear crystal diamond-cut design standing on a sturdy emerald-green foot. The top half has a design of twelve faceted panels of clear crystal and emerald-green.
Crystal made by Val Saint Lambert has an extra load content of approximately 33-40%, higher than the legally determined 24%. This extra lead content gives the piece a gorgeous quality and clarity.
The vase is in excellent, near mint condition, with only very slight scratching on the base due to movement.
