Title: Imperial Russian Light Bronze Medal – Crimean War (1853–1856) – Rare Ribbon (not original)Combination
Historical Significance:
This light bronze medal was awarded to frontline military personnel and militia members for their bravery and service during the Crimean War. Unlike the dark bronze version, the Light Bronze issue was strictly reserved for those who took part in actual combat operations.
Design Details:
Obverse: Features the crowned monograms of Tsars Nicholas I and Alexander II.
Reverse: Inscription: "In Thee, O Lord, we have trusted..." with the years 1853-1854-1855-1856.
Material: Light Bronze (issued to combatants).
Ribbon (is not original)& Condition:
Ribbon: Equipped with a replacement combined St. George and St. Vladimir ribbon. Historically, this specific combination was designated for Militia (Opolchenie) and Cossack units who participated in battles.
Condition: [VF-XF]. Good detail on the monograms and "All-Seeing Eye." Shows authentic signs of age and historical patina.
Authenticity: Genuine 1856-era strike.
