A Rare Set of 5 Moser 'Birds of the Wild' Cased Glass Goblets - Art Deco, c. 1920s-1930s
Presented for auction is a magnificent and rare set of five finely crafted crystal goblets from the renowned Czech manufacturer Moser. These goblets belong to the iconic 'Birds of the Wild' (Wildvögel) series, a highly collectible and intricate pattern that perfectly encapsulates the artistry of the Interwar Art Deco period.
Design & Craftsmanship:
Each goblet features a sophisticated cased-glass construction, where a layer of deeply saturated colored crystal is overlaid onto a clear core. This allows for the intricate, detailed motif to be revealed through masterful acid-etching and frosted intaglio engraving on the bowl.
The set showcases a stunning spectrum of five distinct, jewel-like Moser colors: Deep Ruby Red, Dark Amethyst (Purple), Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green, and a vibrant Lime Green.
The detailed pattern depicts lifelike scenes of European wildlife and forest fauna, rendered with exceptional precision and clarity. Each glass features multiple species of birds, and vegetation within a stylized Art Deco landscape. The facets on the stem and foot add geometric elegance to the design.
Composition & Dimensions:
This lot consists of five (5) distinct goblets:
Height: 19.7 cm
Diameter (Rim): 7.7 cm
Condition:
The set is in excellent vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, or visible scratches. The glass retains its brilliance and clarity, and the engraved details remain sharp. Each goblet is signed with Moser on the base.
