En el reverso se muestra el escudo de armas de Brasil rodeado por ramas de olivo y estrellas, junto con el lema "ORDEM E PROGRESSO". Fue acuñada en el contexto del sistema republicano establecido en Brasil tras la proclamación de la República en 1889.
