賣家描述
Devotional reliquary from the 19th century containing a First-Class relic Columna Flagellationis (the Column of the Flagellation of Our Lord Jesus Christ). The relic is carefully preserved beneath glass and accompanied by its original identification label, highlighting its connection to one of the most significant events of Christ’s Passion.
The reverse of the reliquary displays an intact red wax episcopal seal, along with red silk threads, which assure the authenticity of the relic’s ecclesiastical origin. These elements remain undisturbed, affirming the relic’s preserved and original condition.
According to Christian tradition, the Column of the Flagellation is the pillar to which Christ was bound before being scourged by Roman soldiers prior to His Crucifixion (John 19:1). As an instrument directly associated with the Passion, it became one of the most revered relics in Christendom. Relics connected to the suffering of Christ have long occupied a central place in Christian devotion, inviting meditation on His sacrifice and serving as powerful reminders of the events leading to the Redemption.
The reliquary does not contain human remains
