PJS - Peter Johan Sohlman - 叉 (6) - .875 (84 Zolotniki) 銀 - 俄罗斯帝国时期的餐叉

A rare set of six Russian Imperial silver dessert forks crafted by Peter Johan Sohlman (PJS), one of the distinguished silversmiths active in St. Petersburg during the second half of the 19th century. Each fork is marked with the Russian 84 silver standard and features a unique gilt silver handle decorated in the highly sought-after Japonisme style. The handles are individually ornamented with finely detailed relief scenes inspired by Japanese Meiji-period art, including birds, flowers, aquatic motifs and natural landscapes. No two handles are identical, making the set particularly attractive to collectors of Russian silver and Japonisme decorative arts. Created during the height of the European fascination with Japanese aesthetics, these forks beautifully combine Imperial Russian craftsmanship with Far Eastern artistic influence. The contrast between the silver forks and the richly gilded handles enhances their decorative appeal. The set remains in good antique condition with age-related wear and patina. Some handles show minor seam separations and small deformations consistent with their age and construction, visible in the photographs. Maker: Peter Johan Sohlman (PJS) Origin: St. Petersburg, Russian Empire Period: circa 1875–1883 Material: 84 zolotnik silver (875/1000), gilt silver handles Number of pieces: 6 Length: 19 cm Weight: 287,6 g A rare and decorative late 19th-century silver set reflecting the influence of the Japonisme movement on Imperial Russian luxury tableware.
