100% authentic Sericho pallasite. "Pallasites" are meteorites that are very rare and in which olivines are mixed in a metallic matrix. They originate from the mantle of large asteroids and constitute only 1.7% of known meteorites. Scientists believe they originated from the violent collisions of early asteroids, either at the core-mantle boundary or through impact-mixing, about 4.5 billion years ago. This pallasite was initially named Habaswein, a town near the first discovered fragments, but eventually the meteorite was officially named Sericho, the area in Kenya where the impact occurred.
