Val Saint Lambert - 上菜 (5) - SEVERINA - Catalogue + signed - 玻璃, Rosaline 玻璃 - 上菜盘

Val Saint Lambert “Severina” Serving Set in Rosaline Glass — 5 Pieces, Belgium, Late Art Deco, An elegant five-piece serving set from the celebrated Severina pattern by Val Saint Lambert, produced during the late Art Deco period in Belgium. Executed in delicate Rosaline pressed glass, the service perfectly embodies the refined geometric aesthetics of the 1930s, combining clean architectural lines with the soft blush tone for which Val Saint Lambert became renowned. This complete serving ensemble comprises: * one large serving platter (32 cm), * one medium serving platter (27 cm), * two serving bowls (23 cm), * and one rare three-compartment relish (27 cm) The Severina service is documented in the original Val Saint Lambert catalogue, and a copy of the catalogue page is included with the sale, confirming the authenticity of the design. The two serving bowls are additionally signed “VSL Belgique”, providing further confirmation of their authenticity. Designed to be both practical and visually striking, the Severina pattern reflects the transition from the decorative exuberance of early Art Deco toward the cleaner, more streamlined forms that would define modern design. Nearly ninety years later, its timeless geometry feels remarkably contemporary. This versatile set is equally at home on a dining table as an elegant serving service or displayed as decorative glass sculpture. Its sculptural forms and subtle Rosaline hue make it a wonderful addition to contemporary interiors, Mid-Century Modern spaces, or refined Art Deco collections. Condition: Overall in very good vintage condition, with only light signs of age and use consistent with careful ownership. No chips or cracks observed. Please refer to the photographs for the best indication of condition. A beautiful and increasingly collectible example of Belgian Art Deco glass, combining documented catalogue provenance, original factory signatures on the serving bowls, and an enduring design that remains as elegant today as when it was first introduced. Val Saint Lambert, nestled in Seraing near Liège, Belgium, is a beacon of crystal craftsmanship with a legacy spanning nearly two centuries. Established in 1826 by chemist François Kemlin and engineer Auguste Lelièvre, the company transformed the remnants of the Val-Saint-Lambert Abbey into a thriving glassworks. The 19th century marked a period of significant growth for Val Saint Lambert. By the early 1900s, the company employed over 5,000 workers, producing 120,000 pieces of glass daily. Their creations, renowned for exceptional quality and intricate designs, found admirers worldwide, including in Tsarist Russia and North America. A testament to their artistry is the “Vase of the Nine Provinces,” a monumental piece over 2 meters tall and weighing 200 kilograms, crafted for the 1894 World Exhibition in Antwerp. The 20th century brought challenges, including the impacts of two World Wars and economic downturns. Despite these obstacles, Val Saint Lambert’s resilience ensured the preservation of its artisanal heritage. Today, the company seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, producing exquisite crystal pieces that cater to modern aesthetics. Val Saint Lambert stands as a symbol of Belgian craftsmanship, where each piece reflects a harmonious blend of history, artistry, and innovation. Will be well packaged, protected and insured
