Venetian glass miniature vase, made on the island of Murano, Italy. Decorated with alternating stripes of white zanfirico lattice filigree, blue and green ribbons, trimmed with fine gold leaf inclusions. Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flowerheads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments. Due its color combination it's most likely atribbuted to Salviati. Excellent condition - no chips or cracks!
