He is one of the country's most venerated religious figures. The original German inscription reads: "In diesen Stoff waren die Gebeine des sel. Nikolaus v. Flüe von 1732–1934 eingewickelt." Translation: "This piece of cloth was wrapped around the remains of Blessed Nikolaus von Flüe between 1732 and 1934." The textile fragment is mounted on its original devotional card and secured with its original wax seal, which remains intact.
