Antique Turkmen Jewish Torah Pointer (Yad), mixed Metal with Gilt Decoration and Carnelian An impressive handmade Turkmen Jewish Torah pointer (Yad), crafted in silver-plated metal and richly embellished with applied gilt decorative elements. The elongated body is ornamented with twisted silver wirework, raised floral and foliate appliqués, and bezel-set cabochons including a natural carnelian together with colored glass stones imitating turquoise and other ornamental gemstones. The pointer terminates in a finely cast pointing hand with the index finger extended, while the opposite end is fitted with an integral suspension loop, allowing the Yad to be worn suspended from a waist chain. The layered construction, hand-applied soldered decoration, and contrasting silver and gilt surfaces reflect the refined craftsmanship characteristic of traditional Turkmen Jewish ceremonial metalwork.
