Here for sale is a commemorative WW1 spelter inkwell for the commemoration of the 60e Régiment d'Infanterie(60th Infantry Regiment) in France. Made from spelter, the piece depicts a WW1 French Poilu firing a stylelised Chauchat machinegun on a bi-pod in a muddy battlefield atop a black marble base with a brass plaque that says "Sir du 60e R.I" (Sir of the 60th Infantry Regiment). This was made for the creation of the 60e Régiment d'Infanterie(60th Infantry Regiment). On the the reverse at the base of the poilu is a signature that reads "A. Ouver". The dimensions of the inkwell including the base are: H: 6.5 CM, W: 18 CM, D: 7 CM The piece's condition is excellent though it is missing it's glass inkpot(please see photos for further information).
