Vintage folding step stool (keukentrapje) from the mid-20th century, most likely from the 1960s or 1970s. This is an extremely popular and practical design in the typical European Dutch Brabantia style. Key features: Structure: Solid, chrome-plated tubular steel frame. Design: An ingenious, space-saving mechanism where the two lower steps can be simply folded or pushed under the upper seating surface after use. Materials: The steps and the top are mostly made of durable formica (Resopal) coating, wood or artificial leather upholstery. Function: A dual-purpose piece of furniture - in its basic position it is a high kitchen bar stool, and when opened it is a safe mini ladder for reaching high shelves. The stairs are in good condition, it has a leatherette roof, dark purple, I think. The Brabanti sticker is still on it, but the inscription is no longer visible.I gave the size when opened, of course it is smaller when folded. It is about 32 centimeters deep.
