An extremely rare specimen of the silver Lion Daalder (Leeuwendaalder), struck by the Province of Utrecht in the year 1616. This coin was produced under mintmaster Floris van Domselaar, who took office in 1615.
The 1616 date is explicitly classified in standard numismatic references as R3 (Extremely rare). The Lion Daalder was a cornerstone of the Dutch Republic's international trade currency, struck according to the standards of the States-General.
