BØRGE MOGENSEN (1914–1972)
Sideboard / cabinet model 852, designed in 1955 for Karl Andersson & Söner, Sweden. Produced within the “Bra Bohag” / Øresund series during the 1950s–60s. Scandinavian Modern design.
Oak frame with teak sliding doors, raised on an oak base with black lacquered metal stretchers. Two sliding front doors opening to interior shelving and pull-out compartments. Original recessed circular handles. Marked to the reverse with manufacturer’s labels and production inscription “P 4811/852”.
Dimensions: approx. 135 cm width × 36 cm depth × 83 cm height.
A refined and highly architectural example of Børge Mogensen’s functional Scandinavian design language, combining warm natural materials with minimalist industrial detailing. The model was designed in 1955 and produced by Karl Andersson & Söner in Huskvarna, Sweden. Comparable examples have appeared in Scandinavian design auctions and international vintage galleries.
Condition: restored and with retouches; showing minor wear and patina consistent with age and use.
