39. ACCA MS-64，1891 Switzerland 600th Anniversary of the Swiss Confederation Medal，罕見百年紀念章
這枚是1891年為了紀念瑞士聯邦成立600週年所發行的紀念章。瑞士人認為1291年8月1日，烏里、施維茨、下瓦爾登三個州在呂特利草原締結同盟，就是瑞士的建國起點，到1891年正好600年，所以全國大慶，而Aluminum 鋁質 - 這在1891年是非常先進的材質。這枚是典型的19世紀末新古典主義風格，兩面講的是同一個建國傳說：呂特利宣誓 Rütlischwur。正面是三勇士宣誓，主圖是三位建國勇士，傳說中的三州代表，正在舉起手指對天宣誓結盟，互相握手。外圈的德文是瑞士國歌和格言：我們要成為一個兄弟的民族，在任何困苦和危險中都不分離。這句話就是瑞士聯邦的精神。背面則是家譜樹，主圖是一棵大橡樹，樹幹上是一面瑞士十字盾牌，盾牌上刻著 1891，樹根處刻著 1291。在1891年，鋁比銀還貴重、還時髦，因為電解提煉鋁的技術才剛成熟不久。當時很多國家慶祝重大事件，會特地用鋁來做紀念章來炫耀科技實力，所以鋁章在19世紀末反而是高檔紀念品。以130多年的鋁章來說，能保持MS-64沒有嚴重的氧化白點和劃傷，算是保存得非常好了。這枚在瑞士錢幣目錄裡是有收錄的歷史性紀念章。
39. ACCA MS-64, 1891 Switzerland 600th Anniversary of the Swiss Confederation Medal, Rare Centennial Commemorative Medal:
This medal was issued in 1891 to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the founding of the Swiss Confederation. The Swiss consider August 1, 1291, when the three cantons of Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden formed an alliance on the Rütli meadow, as the founding moment of Switzerland. By 1891, it was exactly 600 years, so the whole country celebrated. Made of aluminum – which was very advanced for 1891.
This piece is a typical late 19th-century neoclassical style, depicting the same founding legend on both sides: the Rütli Oath. The obverse shows the three founding heroes taking their oath. The main image features the three legendary cantonal representatives raising their fingers to the sky in oath and shaking hands. The German text around the edge is the Swiss national anthem and motto: 'We want to become a brotherly nation, never to be separated in any hardship or danger.' This phrase embodies the spirit of the Swiss Confederation.
The reverse shows a family tree, with the main image being a large oak tree. On the trunk is a Swiss cross shield engraved with 1891, and at the base of the roots, 1291 is engraved. In 1891, aluminum was more precious and fashionable than silver, since the electrolytic refining of aluminum had only recently become viable. Many countries at the time would use aluminum for commemorative medals to showcase technological prowess, so aluminum medals were actually high-end collectibles in the late 19th century. Considering this medal is over 130 years old, keeping an MS-64 grade without serious white oxidation spots or scratches is very well-preserved. This medal is also listed as a historic commemorative medal in Swiss coin catalogs.
