Early 20th Century Edwardian Silver Plate Serving Dish – William Hutton & Sons – Sheffield, UK (Crossed Arrows mark, c.1905–1920)
Elegant rectangular entrée dish made by William Hutton & Sons, Sheffield, England, marked with the Crossed Arrows trademark and Hard Soldered. This mark was adopted after Hutton acquired Creswick & Co. in 1902 and was in use until the firm’s absorption in 1930.
This versatile serving piece consists of a base with decorative rim and side handles and a fitted lid that can also be inverted and used as a second serving dish. The design is refined and practical, typical of the Edwardian period.
In good antique condition with natural signs of use, including light surface scratches and minor wear to the plating (see photos).
A fine quality and practical silver-plated entrée dish, dating to around 1905–1920, from one of Sheffield’s most respected makers. Perfect for elegant dining or display.
