About the silversmith – Pierre Bognon
Pierre Bognon was a Parisian orfèvre-plaqué (silversmith/electroplater) active in the early 20th century. His maker’s mark—a PB flanking a hammer—is recorded for 1921–1925 and is found on quality service pieces for the table, often with restrained classical details (beading, shell handles) suited to high-end hotels and private households of the inter-war period.
