Sjælden Basenji hund jagtsignal - Bakongo - DR Congo (Ingen mindstepris)
A very rare original Basenji dog hunting bell made in Congo. Basenjis are the traditional hunting dogs in Central Africa, where they were prized by locals for their intelligence, courage, speed, and silence. As Basenjis can't bark due to their flattened larnyx, the Bakongo used these bells to be able to locate them during hunting.
This is an especially fine piece, made of a nut. It has a stone in the middle that makes a rattling sound. It preserves its original raphia cord.
A very rare novelty piece with an exceptional presence and also a beautiful object that would make an interesting conversation piece in any interior.
24 cm high with the cord (7 cm without)
7,5 X 6 cm
