Description Beautiful traditional Japanese hibachi cabinet (火鉢), crafted in solid wood with a warm natural finish and striking grain patterns. This multifunctional chest features a copper-lined fire/warming basin originally used to hold charcoal for heating or tea preparation. Next to the main basin is a compartment tray for utensils or accessories. The piece also includes multiple drawers of different sizes, ideal for storing tools, tea utensils, or household items. The construction shows classic Japanese joinery, including dovetails and hand-forged metal handles. This hibachi can now serve wonderfully as an interior décor piece, coffee table, storage chest, or a unique conversation piece. Condition Very good vintage condition. Wood is clean and shows beautiful grain. Copper basin shows natural patina consistent with age. Drawers slide smoothly. Minor signs of use appropriate for age (see photos).
