The box has two separate compartments, each designed to hold one deer securely. The set includes one standing deer and one seated deer, both carved with great precision. The sculptor captured the natural posture, anatomy and gentle expression of deer, giving the figures a lifelike and elegant appearance. Minor age-related minor blemishes are present. The standing deer shows a glued repair on the left front hoof, a small loss on the right front hoof, and a tiny hole on the underside of the body.
