This is a woodblock print by Tomikichiro Tokuriki, titled "Gion Kouta." Gion Kouta is an old, famous song often used in Japanese dance. It also seems to have been a theme song for a movie. The lyrics were written by Mikihiko Osada, and the music was composed by Koka Sasa. The artwork depicts the first verse of the song, which celebrates spring, the back of a geisha who was the model for the song, and the bonfires that are hazy in the Kyoto mountain range.
