上田耕甫 Ueda Koho (1860-1944) Nanga painter born in Osaka, the son of Ueda Kochu. He learnt painting from his father and did well in flower-and-bird painting. He also studied the tea ceremony under Issai - 聿斎. with signature 'Koho' 耕甫 and seal 'Cho in' 長印 'Koho' 耕甫 A graceful Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku) by Ueda Koho (上田耕甫), depicting a small bird perched among fresh green maple leaves. The composition captures a fleeting seasonal moment with delicate brushwork and subtle coloration, evoking themes of renewal and quiet observation.
