Rare and elegant complete set of six Imperial Russian silver-gilt tea spoons, made in Moscow, 1879 by the noted silversmith Stepan Karpovich Levin (СКЛ). Each spoon is crafted in 84 zolotnik (.875) silver, with rich, fully preserved original gilding and fine hand-chased floral ornamentation. The terminals bear an “R” monogram within oval cartouches. Marks: Moscow city mark (St. George), assayer Vasili Savinkov, maker’s mark СКЛ (Levin), year 1872.
