Nepali primitive figurine / Putali - 65 cm, 3,8 KG - Nepal (Ingen mindstepris)

This old tribal used Nepalese Putali Wood Statue was made of heavy wood. These primitive wooden sculptures were carved and dedicated by shamans. The figures are placed in a variety of locations, such as shelters at the edge of the village. Their most apparent purpose is protective: positioned at bridges, they are intended to ensure pure water and safe passage, while at the village outskirts they are believed to safeguard the community against malevolent spirits. Nepalese artists developed a distinctive anthropomorphic physiognomy for their deities, typically in an elongated form with long or wide exaggerated features, and hands often shown in the traditional Nepali "namaskar" gesture of reverence and greeting. Condition: old as is but authentic as pictured, no restorations. The statue is stable and the statue still very strong. It can stand on his own. Superb patine. The statue has a strong look and carving. No tourist piece. Careful registered sending #ttjan
