This first edition travelogue showing Florence's famous landmarks (Ponte Vecchio, Santa Croce) and other Tuscan towns like Pisa, Lucca, and Viareggio. This book served as both a beautiful art collection and a practical guide to the region's culture and architecture.
The book is wonderfully illustrated with 75 striking full page colour plates, captioned on the tissue guards by Colonel Robert Charles Goff and descriptive text by his wife, Clarissa Goff,
Published by Adam and Charles Black, London (1905). Publisher’s original red boards, decorated and lettered in gilt all over the upper cover and spine. Top page edges gilt.

Condition
The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm and well bound copy. External covers with minor age related marks, and light wear to corners and edges. Internally the book is in very good condition. A little name on first blank front free endpaper page. Pages are clean, with occasional light foxing to the margin of some pages. The text is fresh. The attractive illustrations make this a truly beautiful title (Please see pictures).
