Georges De Geetere (1868-1924) was a Belgian artist. He was an etcher, painter, and illustrator. De Geetere studied under the guidance of the famous academic artist Jean-Léon Gérôme at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. De Geetere's work was influenced by the Symbolist movement, emphasizing the mystical and ideal aspects of life and art, rather than objective reality. His work is haunting, dreamlike, featuring themes of love, death, and inner emotions. De Geetere was part of a vibrant artistic community in Paris during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, "a period that was rich in artistic experimentation and innovation." It is in absolutely flawless condition, it comes from a distinguished family inheritance in Belgium, where it was regularly maintained. Its origin can be traced, it came to us through auction.
