Vestasiatiske White Hardstone Perlehalskæde (Ingen mindstepris)
A restrung Western Asiatic white hardstone beaded necklace. The body of the necklace is composed of rounded, cylindrical, and tubular beads, which gradually increase in size towards the centrepiece. Each bead features a unique shape, pattern and colour, displaying hues of cream and white. The pendant consists of a stack of three beads, beginning with a large rounded bead, a flattened rectangular bead, and finished with a small cylindrical bead. On either side of the pendant are two teardrop-shaped beads pierced at the top, framing the pendant. The necklace is threaded upon string and finished with a modern gold-plated clasp.
Jewellery is thought to be one of the oldest forms of art within history, with the presence of rings, bangles and necklaces’ being present in almost all ancient societies. The Western Asiatic during Mesopotamia is home to many interesting and unique jewellery patterns, with hardstone being the common material of choice for ancient citizens to decorate themselves with. The sophisticated nature of the society can be seen through their jewellery making skills with elaborate patterns and carvings being common find.
